simplicity.

Max and Blackjack were surrendered together. They were very shy and wouldn’t come around. After about a month they adjusted and have made themselves at home in our playroom with four other kitties. They love each other so much that we require they go to a home together. :)

Isn’t Cookie just stunning? She is an older gal that has been with us for a while. She didn’t adjust well to the shelter until recently. We decided to spoil her and put her into a larger cage!

When people surrender their animals due to allergies…

I’m allergic to: cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, alpacas, goats, hay, cows, horses…

I went haying every summer.

I break out in hives every time I work.

I’d get sinus infections cleaning the cob webs at the goat dairy.

We’ve had to turn one of our rooms into a second ISO

Thrity cats have URIs and five of them are horribly, horribly sick.

Our Puppy Playroom now houses 6 or 7 rabbits. And our break room has puppies and momma.

I medicated EVERYONE and came out to find everyone goofing off and talking. waiting for me… because no one else is capable of medicating…

I just can’t stand to see them so ill. I wish I could take them home and take proper care of them.

I suppose the worst part is that the community expects so much of us. They can’t comprehend we simply don’t have space for 7 kittens with URIs so bad their eyes are glued shut with green mucus. But we take them anyways and my boss cares for them, her two other fosters and her second job.

Again, to people who hate shelters, take a look at yourself. What are YOU doing to help? Nothing? Then shut up.

Paychecks are nice considering we work in a shelter, but the people I work with live paycheck to paycheck. There is NO MONEY IN ANIMAL CARE. Ever. Period.

I don’t know how people in California even manage.

Attilla got adopteddd!

He has heartworm and he has been so unhappy and he is just the loviest guy in the world and he got adopted by a guy that has worked in the animal field.

he gets to finish his treatment and go home to a house and couch and YAYYY.

and there is two acres!

and he is gonna be so happy!

This is a stray we got in. That is not a tail, that is her foot. It is obviously deformed. Looked like it was born that way but a fixed feral trap injury is also likely.
We named her Peggy… ;)
Her owner called the next day asking if we had a cat with, “a funny leg”

Frankenwienie…
Well. Lulu.
I’m unsure of how she got to us, but she came in with tumor-like thingymabobs (for lack of a better word) on her head (they were seriously bizarre). I didn’t get to hear the actual diagnosis but it turned out to be a type of cyst that would multiply so the doctor decided to remove them.
Sadly, they were all over her head so what you see is the best part of her stitches.
She is perky, eating well and honestly isn’t affected by this at all. (which is very odd!) She loves to be with people and is quite the wiggle wart.
I’m hoping for a speedy recovery, for her sake, she looks just awful.

Nehemiah stoned out of his mind. The vet wrapped his neck (which honestly made no sense beacause it is just irritating it more, but we’ll see) We also stole his ballsies. Wonder if he will still like me this morning.

This is Wave.
Wave came from California with five other dogs. She is a sweet gal that loves to sit in your lap and loves other dogs. Her pal got adopted so she is very loney. I’m hoping she gets adopted soon because she is so sweet :)

Kippers in his cone of shame.
Someone shut his tail in a door so we had to amputate his tail. He goes feral when we take the cone off because he can get to his tail, so we made him a cone harness!
He is a happy man who is one step closer to his forever home!
He has a very soft meow and will do anything for a scratch on the chin. :)
