learning love from animals

I wish I could write out all the stories of the dogs that have come in that were attacking/barking through the kennel and two weeks later they are giving me kisses… they have so much good in their hearts. So much love.

They all connect to people. Every time there is a new dog and you’re the first to challenge them to trust you, they remember you. You’ll be gone for a week and they will hear your voice and do everything they can to get to you. They will climb in your lap and beg for you to not leave. 

Today a man startled a dog and he ran behind me and sat down. I just met this dog, but he knew I was safe, I fed him, I walked him, I loved him and for that he loved me. 

Why can’t people be so simple. Just LOVE. Just care for each other and LOVE. 

I spent two years turning this off because animals come and go and business is business working at clinics. Working at this shelter has made my heart swell.

The switch is permanently on, if I can’t feel these animals pain, I do not deserve their love.
